SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (MY BIG FAT MOUTH - 1)

I think it’s pretty safe to say that we ALL could really use some better Understanding in Knowing that there is some Serious Power in the WORDS that WE SPEAK! (For Example…) Our WORDS have the Power to Give Life… but our WORDS also have the Power to Take Life! (Jesus once said…) "Out of the overflow of the heart - the MOUTH SPEAKS!” -- So we’re gonna take the next few weeks here at COC and talk a little more about the WORDS we often Speak - and then start attempting to get a little better in our own lives with a few of those areas… in a New Series we’re calling MY BIG FAT MOUTH! It’s gonna AWESOME and you simply Can’t Miss It! (And…) Bring A Friend Too!

Sunday Snapshot… (1) COMPLAINING

Matthew 5:13-14a... You are the SALT of the earth. You are the LIGHT of the world...

WHAT IS “IT” -- THAT YOU TEND TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE MOST? (Be Careful!) Because you might actually be COMPLAINING against “JESUS” instead of “IT!” (Exodus 16:8)

The Real Problem with COMPLAINING is that we've taken our eyes off of the GOODNESS OF GOD… and we've placed our eyes dead center on OURSELVES!

Philippians 2:14-15… Do EVERYTHING… WITHOUT GRUMBLING or ARGUING…

so that you may become blameless and pure - children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.

Lessons from Paul about COMPLAINING...

(1) If there is SOMETHING in Your Life that’s NOT RIGHT and YOU CAN FIX “IT” - then FIX “IT” and STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT “IT!”

(2) If there is SOMETHING in Your Life that’s NOT RIGHT and YOU CAN’T FIX “IT” - then CHANGE how you LOOK at “IT” and STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT “IT!”

Remind Yourself of THIS often - it will really help with Your COMPLAINING... YOU’RE NOT THE CENTER OF YOUR STORY… JESUS IS THE CENTER OF YOUR STORY!

SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (GATHER.GROW.GIVE.GO) -1

The FIRST FOLLOWERS OF JESUS- took HIS BRAND and HIS LABELS soooooo seriously… that they literally transformed their day and age! (Matter of fact…) If you were to go to ROME today… (The Birthplace of Early Christianity!) you would see/find CROSSES… just about ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE you look! (But…) Being a JESUS FOLLOWER back then was ANYTHING but EASY… IT CAME WITH A HEFTY PRICE! (And if I’m being honest with you all right now…) The PRICE those Early Followers PAID… I’m not completely convinced… that WE (CHRISTIANS) TODAY really Truly/Genuinely Understand it… (Or…) Might Be Willing To PAY Ourselves!? Consider joining us This Week at COC as we look a little closer at THAT PRICE and then share with you HOW-WE (COC) are trying to implement that type of VISION and SACRIFICE into WHAT WE DO here at COC! It’s gonna be a Great Week so Don’t Miss It!

Sunday Snapshot… (1) GATHER.GROW.GIVE.GO

Matthew 5:13-14a...You are the SALT of the earth. You are the LIGHT of the world...

COC is a place where we GATHER...(Hebrews 10:24-25) Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.

COC is a place where we GROW...We accomplish that through PRAYER (Philippians 4:6-7) and TEACHING (Hebrews 4:12)

COC is a place where we GIVE...We believe when it comes to our GIVING (Time/Talents/Treasures) that IT’S NOT WHAT GOD WANTS "FROM" YOU… IT’S WHAT HE WANTS "FOR" YOU!

COC is a place where we GO...We believe that God has not SUGGESTED we GO- but He has COMMANDED that we GO! (Matthew 28:18-20 / Acts 1:8)

Are you “BOTHERED” that PEOPLE AROUND YOU are LOST and WITHOUT CHRIST?(If you are...) Then remember that YOU have been CALLED to be SALT and LIGHT to them!
