SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (not a fan.)

CELEBRATORS… Are you a FAN or a FOLLOWER? The dictionary defines a FAN as “AN ENTHUSIASTIC ADMIRER!” FANS want to be close enough to Jesus to get all the benefits… but not so close that it requires a SACRIFICE! FANS may be fine with attending church on the weekend… having your car radio dialed into the local Christian Radio station… and maybe even slapping a Jesus Fish (or COC Decal) on your bumpers… but is that REALLY the extent of the RELATIONSHIP that Jesus wants? Here’s the bottom-line… Jesus was NEVER interested in having a bunch of ‘enthusiastic admirers!’ It’s not FANS that He is looking for! He never asked us to sit on the sidelines and cheer for His cause… He wants us IN THE GAME! He’s looking for Completely Committed… FOLLOWERS! Jesus isn't interested in things remaining CASUAL between the two of you… He's after a COMMITMENT with you!

FANS cheer when things are going GOOD -- but walk away when things get DIFFICULT! FANS know ABOUT HIM… but don't actually KNOW HIM!

There's no way to FOLLOW Jesus without Him INTERFERING with YOUR LIFE!

Diagnosing FANdom…

Have you made a DECISION for Jesus… or have you COMMITTED to Jesus?

-Following Jesus always COSTS YOU SOMETHING!

Diagnosing FANdom…

Do you just know ABOUT Jesus…or do you really KNOW Him?

-The PROBLEM isn't KNOWLEDGE… it's about INTIMACY with HIM!

Jesus didn't want Nicodemus AT NIGHT… He wanted him DURING THE DAY… TOO!

Does He HAVE YOU... ALL DAY… EVERY DAY?

CELEBRATORS… Often times when God makes PROMISES we don’t always realize that there will be PROBLEMS along the way as well! Just as the Israelites discovered with their PROMISED LAND… there would be GRAPES… but there would also be GIANTS! The GOAL in this series is to look a little closer at the PROMISES (Grapes) of POWER… PURPOSE… and PROTECTION found within the Book of Ephesians! Our hope/prayer is that you would fully realize ALL that God has PLANNED for you and how to NAVIGATE better through the OBSTACLES (Giants) - so you can realize/reach your full POTENTIAL as a Follower of Jesus! The Christian Life isn't a PLAYGROUND… it's a BATTLEFIELD… so you need to GET DRESSED every day!

The Promise of God's Protection doesn't mean that He will PROTECT you FROM the Battle… it's a Promise that He will PROTECT you IN the Battle!

Ephesians 3:12… KNOW YOUR ENEMY!

You can't DEFEAT your ENEMY… If you don't DISCERN your ENEMY!

Ephesians 3:14-17… There's NO ARMOR that's given to you… TO PROTECT YOU FROM BEHIND! You're supposed TO STAND… and FIGHT!

(Run AT Your Giants… Follower of Jesus!)

Don't be worried when Satan's messing with your life… be worried when he's NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! You gain STRENGTH from/in your STRUGGLE!

Ephesians 6:10-20… God's Love for YOU is RELENTLESS! There's NOTHING He won't do to PROTECT HIS INVESTMENT (YOU) -- from the Enemy!

Ephesians 6:10-20… DID YOU GET DRESSED FOR WAR TODAY?

God has made PROVISION… for your PROTECTION!
