Sunday Snapshot… (WK2) RELIABLE WITNESS
If you’re a Christian… you need to always be PREPARED to defend your decision to Follow Jesus! Be PREPARED to defend your hope or confidence in JESUS! You believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave! (And that alone is AmAzInG!) But you don’t have to believe it because the Bible says so… IT’S BETTER THAN THAT!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEFEND THE BIBLE! The Foundation of our Faith IS NOT the Bible! Our Foundation is in JESUS and WHAT HE ACTUALLY DID!
The REASON you became a Christian is because somebody told you about JESUS... and WHAT HE DID FOR YOU - CHANGED YOUR LIFE! (The Bible is a BONUS!)
Our Goal as Christians is to get people as close to JESUS as quick as possible! YOU... are only responsible to give a REASON for the HOPE that YOU have!
Christians don't believe THE GOSPELS are RELIABLE because they're in THE BIBLE... Christians believe THE GOSPELS were included in THE BIBLE because they are considered RELIABLE!
THE GOSPELS (Matthew/Mark/Luke/John) were considered RELIABLE because of WHO wrote them and WHEN they were written!
WHO wrote THE GOSPELS and WHEN they wrote them give them AUTHENTICITY and CREDIBILITY! (History Proves It… Because there were EYEWITNESSES!)
