SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (BE CHRISTMAS - 1)

When it comes to CHRISTMAS… it all STARTS with JESUS and ENDS with JESUS! It’s really a season where we are called to LAY DOWN our BURDENS and LIFT UP a SONG to our GOD! It’s a season where LOVE WINS… PEACE REIGNS… and a KING IS CELEBRATED! So as we enter the Story of Christmas together this year… our prayer at COC is that each and every one of you will ENCOUNTER JESUS in a special way! And when you do just that… we’re pretty sure that your life will overflow with LOVE… and maybe you’ll SPEND A LITTLE LESS and GIVE A LITTLE MORE! Because MORE… blesses everyone in the end! Don’t miss our very special Two-Week Series leading into Christmas Eve this year called BE CHRISTMAS… hopefully we’ll be able to show you a little how you can DO/BE everything we’ve just mentioned!

Sunday Snapshot… (Wk1) WORSHIP FULLY / LOVE ALL

When you GIVE something to JESUS... you'll always leave with WAY MORE than you GAVE! (Because...) You can never OUT-GIVE God!

We truly WORSHIP JESUS with our HEARTS/HANDS and HUMILITY... by being GENEROUS with our TIME/TALENTS and TREASURES!

WORSHIP comes naturally when someone ENCOUNTERS GOD!

We BECOME LIKE... whatever we POUR OUR HEARTS into! (So...) When we POUR OUR HEARTS into JESUS... we BECOME LIKE HIM! (That’s the GOAL!)

JESUS wants us to BE a BLESSING to HIM by BEING a BLESSING to OTHERS!

You CANNOT truly KNOW JESUS and NOT... LOVE the THINGS that JESUS LOVES!

The most Dangerous Lies are the ones we Never Notice! Common but Deadly Deceptions are impacting our lives every day! They can “TWIST” our thinking in ways we’d never expect and leave us with a life we’ve never imagined! Our ability to recognize them can spell the difference between Happiness and/or the Loss of ALL we hold dear! So the Greater Question is… DO YOU SEE THEM? Do whatever you can to join us at COC this LAST WEEK as we wrap up taking a closer look in our Current Series at how God’s Truth often gets… TWISTED!

Sunday Snapshot… (Wk4) IT’S NO MISTAKE!

The TWIST... Writing off SIN and calling it a MISTAKE! -- We're not MISTAKERS... we're SINNERS! (There’s a Big Difference!)

If I'm a MISTAKER and not a SINNER... then I have NO SIN and have NO NEED for a SAVIOR!

Matthew 5:17-48... Jesus "RAISES THE BAR" to show us just how BAD we really are!

Jesus' Basic Message in Matthew 5:17-48... “You all came to this sermon today thinking you were just MISTAKERS who needed to DO BETTER! But I’m here to convince you that you’re actually SINNERS… and there’s absolutely NO HOPE FOR YOU if it depends on YOUR EFFORTS and YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS!” (We ALL need a SAVIOR!)

MISTAKERS… NEVER RUN TO GOD… they ALWAYS RUN AWAY from HIM! (However...) SINNERS... ALWAYS RUN TO GOD… they NEVER RUN AWAY from HIM!

Jesus' Two Big Messages...

1) You're a SINNER and in BIG TROUBLE!

2) GOOD NEWS... GOD LOVES SINNERS and sent a SAVIOR on our behalf!
