THE GOSPEL and RELIGION are Two Completely Different Things!

(It’s time we STOP getting them CONFUSED!)

RELIGION vs. THE GOSPEL...

1a. RELIGION is SALVATION through MORAL EFFORT!

1b. THE GOSPEL is SALVATION by GRACE through JESUS CHRIST!

2a. RELIGION FOCUSES on what I DO or DON'T DO!

2b. THE GOSPEL FOCUSES on what JESUS HAS ALREADY DONE!

3a. RELIGION produces PRIDE and DESPAIR!

3b. THE GOSPEL produces PEACE and CONFIDENCE!

4a. RELIGION is motivated by FEAR!

4b. THE GOSPEL is motivated by LOVE!

You DETERMINE the VALUE of SOMETHING by WHAT SOMEONE is willing to PAY FOR IT... GOD GAVE HIS SON (JESUS CHRIST) FOR YOU! (You are WORTH MORE than YOU THINK!)

Most of us aren’t in danger of RUINING OUR LIVES… we’re in danger of WASTING THEM!

I wonder today… How many of you reading this blog might feel as if the life you’ve apparently ‘settled’ for… isn’t quite what you expected or signed up for? Well… What if I told you that God has/is calling you to do GREATER things WITH HIM than you ever expected? The problem is… for many of us… there seems to be just too wide of a gap between what God Says in His Word and the Results we are Seeing In Our Lives! It’s almost as if we’ve been lulled into ‘Comfortable Complacency!?’ And though baseline living is okay… it’s NOT okay for a Believer in Jesus! There’s actually a PRICE to PAY for what’s known as Christian Complacency! The Fact is… We are so much BETTER than what we’ve become… because God is so much GREATER than we’re allowing Him to be in/through us! We’re gonna show you one last way HOW to move towards Greater Faith in your life in our last week here at COC as we wrap-up looking at the Life of ELISHA… an Ordinary guy who did Extraordinary things… all because he was willing to live a RiDiCuLoUs Faith! 1) Be HONEST about WHERE you LOST IT!

-Chances are it's WHERE you last LEFT IT! Stop Blaming God for what YOU LOST!

2) With God's Help... TAKE BACK what YOU LOST!

-Only God can make the axe head float... He wants YOU to LIFT IT OUT!

YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN DO... AND TRUST GOD TO DO WHAT YOU CANNOT DO!

(That’s how FAITH works!)
