SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (SAMSON - 1)

Do you ever go through your life and FEEL INVINCIBLE at times? You feel STRONGER than anything and that you could DEFEAT just about everything? (And then…)  Like Out of Nowhere– you get THUMPED! You get BEAT DOWN… by something from your Past/Present… and you’re very quickly reminded of HOW WEAK you really might be? (Well if we’re being honest with ourselves…) The Truth is… even our best intentions can falter when we face TEMPTATIONS and DISTRACTIONS! (If that’s you…) COC WANTS TO HELP! We’re gonna take the next few weeks and walk through the Story of Samson and hopefully teach you a few things about STANDING STRONG against the Forces of Darkness that are just waiting/lurking to TAKE YOU OUT! It’s gonna be a FANTASTIC SERIES for what I believe MANY OF US NEED TO HEAR about STANDING STRONG in the FACE of ADVERSITY! See you soon Celebrators!

Sunday Snapshot… (1) WHEN STRONG MEN ARE WEAK!

"I WILL BE THAT MAN! If God is looking for a MAN of INTEGRITY… HONOR… COURAGE… and FAITHFULNESS… I WILL BE SUCH A MAN!”

SAMSON was an Incredibly Strong Man with a Dangerously Weak Will!

ThreeSpecificAttitudesthat will always MAKEASTRONGMANWEAK...

1) LUST   2) ENTITLEMENT   3) PRIDE

LUST… is basically when a MANSEESSOMETHINGthat HEDESIRES… (And He Says To Himself…) “I WANT IT… I GOTTA HAVE IT… (So...) I’M GOING TO GET IT!"

If LUST means… "I WANT IT" - then ENTITLEMENTmeans over time you'll justify your LUST and eventually say... "I DESERVE IT!"

PRIDE gives birth from Lust/Entitlement- and it leads you to eventually say... "I CAN HANDLE IT!" (But...) The Truth is... "YOU CAN'T HANDLE ANYTHING!"

SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (BELIEVE – Resurrection Sunday)

The Primary Issue of EASTER with most skeptics today and throughout history basically boils down to… THE RESURRECTION! Did it REALLY HAPPEN or is it just MYTH? And the Primary Basis of those Arguments center around This Idea... The Written Accounts seem to be too far removed from the Actual Events - to actually be Accurate Accounts of Accurate/Actual Events! (However…) As Christians… We BELIEVE… The Resurrection was REAL not because the Bible Says So… IT’S BETTER THAN THAT! (And…) That’s what we wanna talk about THIS RESURRECTION SUNDAY… the “It’s Better Than That” Idea! Which primarily deals with actual EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS of THE RESURRECTION! (Because…) For a Believer in Jesus… EVERYTHING WE “BELIEVE” - HINGES ON THE RESURRECTION! (So…) We hope you’ll join us this Resurrection Sunday… as we attempt to explain to you How/Why you can CONFIDENTLY “BELIEVE” that THE RESURRECTION… Really Happened! See You Sunday!

Sunday Snapshot… (1) BELIEVE – Resurrection Sunday

1 Corinthians 15:1-8… Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the Gospel… I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this Gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of First Importance… that Christ Died for Our Sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried… that He was Raised on the Third Day according to the Scriptures… and that He Appeared to Cephas… and then to the Twelve. After that, He Appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time… most of whom are still living - though some have fallen asleep. Then He Appeared to James… then to all the apostles… and last of all He Appeared to Me also… as to one abnormally born.

A Few Things That Paul’s Letter Proves…

1. It PROVES… THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS… was NOT a PRODUCT of DECADES/DECADES of ORAL TRANSMISSION!
2. It PROVES… BELIEF in THE RESURRECTION was DOCUMENTED… WHILE EYEWITNESSES were STILL EYEWITNESSES!
3. It PROVES that THE BIBLE… didn’t CREATE CHRISTIANITY!
4. It PROVES that CHRISTIANS… didn’t CREATE CHRISTIANITY!
5. IT PROVES THAT… “THE RESURRECTION” CREATED CHRISTIANITY!

THE RESURRECTION… Was CENTRAL to THE MESSAGE of THE FIRST FOLLOWERS of JESUS… who “BELIEVED” they SAW… a DEAD JESUS… and then later… an ALIVE JESUS!
