I think we all know the basic ingredient requited to FALL IN LOVE… a PULSE! (Right!?) So I think we all would agree… FALLING IN LOVE seems to be the Easy Part today! But here’s where things get a little complicated… STAYING THERE… FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE! (That seems to be something entirely different today!) So we’d like to continue showing you a little about WHAT the AUTHOR of MARRIAGE (GOD) has to say about… FALLING IN LOVE – STAYING IN LOVE – FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE here at COC as we head into the Second Week of our New Marriage Series! Sunday Snapshot… (2) THE Blueprint
IS IT POSSIBLE… FOR TWO PEOPLE TO ACTUALLY FALL IN LOVE… (And…) STAY IN LOVE… FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE?
Philippians 2:3-8…Do Nothing out of Selfish Ambition or Vain Conceit. Rather, in HUMILITY, Value Others Above Yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your RELATIONSHIPS with one another, have the Same Mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His Own Advantage; rather, He made Himself NOTHING by taking the very nature of a Servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He HUMBLED Himself… BY becoming obedient to death - even DEATH ON A CROSS!
Philippians 2:3-4... Do Nothing out of Selfish Ambition or Vain Conceit. Always place the VALUE of the other person in your Marriage Relationship ABOVE Yourself!
Philippians 2:5-6...In your RELATIONSHIPS with one another, have the Same Mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His Own Advantage; (That Basically Means…) NEVER in His Entire Ministry… did JESUS leverage WHO HE WAS… for HIS OWN SAKE or GAIN! He ALWAYS thought of Others First!
Philippians 2:7-8... rather, He made Himself NOTHING by taking the very nature of a Servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He HUMBLED Himself… BY becoming obedient to death - even DEATH ON A CROSS! (That Basically Means…) HE “EMPTIED” HIMSELF! How often are you “EMPTYING” Yourself in your Marriage Relationship?
JESUS did not come into this World to be “RIGHT” or to “MAKE A POINT!” – HE CAME INTO THIS WORLD TO “MAKE A DIFFERENCE!” (Aaaaaand…) THERE’S A HUUUUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “BEING RIGHT” OR “MAKING A POINT” -- AND “MAKING A DIFFERENCE!”
