Respectable Sins… (1) Just A Flesh Wound…?
CELEBRATORS… Starting a brand new series this week call RESPECTABLE SINS - Confronting The Sins We Love To Tolerate! Just the very title makes you a little nervous – doesn’t it? Here’s the deal folks… what’s CrAzY today is this – in a lot of Churches… you might hear people shy away from the word SIN altogether! Saying things like… “WE DON’T EVEN CALL… PEOPLE SINNERS! WE DON’T WANT ANYONE TO FEEL BAD ABOUT THEMSELVES!” SIN… has become a FORBIDDEN WORD in a lot of Church’s today! But the reality is this Celebrators… If we don’t talk about SIN – the REALITY of our SIN NATURE… and its DESTRUCTIVE POWER… and its ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES… then WE AS THE CHURCH… are probably doing the most INCREDIBLE DISSERVICE to PEOPLE and OURSELVES that we could ever do with our entire lives! So we’re taking this THING head on! You won’t wanna miss it – I promise!
Below is a sneak-peak of our first week… (1) JUST A FLESH WOUND…?
Most Important Thought This Series...
Romans 3:23… ALL have SINNED and fall short of the glory of God!
SIN Problem...
-We want to “ADD” CHRIST without “SUBTRACTING” SIN!
-We want a “REVIVAL” in our HEARTS without any “REPENTANCE” in our LIVES!
SPIRITUAL MATURITY means this... It's NOT how much we “KNOW”… it’s how much we “OBEY!”
First Myth of SIN... I'M NOT A BAD PERSON!
-Problem with that idea is this... Unless we see ourselves as SINNERS… we’ll never see our NEED for a SAVIOR!
Second Myth of SIN... ALL SIN IS THE SAME!
-ALL 'UNFORGIVEN' SIN is the SAME (Yes!) - it separates us from God!
-But… ALL SINS have different consequences!
Third Myth of SIN... I'VE ALREADY SINNED... SO I MIGHT AS WELL CONTINUE! SIN is DESTRUCTIVE because it's PROGRESSIVE IN NATURE!

What do I do about my SIN? Revelation 3:19… RE-PENT!
-It's all about the "RE" - Go back to the beginning and RE-turn to the Ways of God!
